Knock Knock Knock......

Is anyone reading this thing? If so, I apologize for the delay in updates...Hey, Im a busy woman, what can I say? Im making cards, taking orders and tons of Christmas photos for people...its a great time I'm having. I don't even know where to begin! Oh wait, yes I do. Lets start with this bunch. I had to take a pic in between the posed smiles because they were having so much fun and to me, photos should show the emotions between the subjects in them. These guys are all cousins getting Christmas pics for grandparents. They were silly and fun and I hope they come back to me again because I completely enjoyed them!

Next.......we have pretty blonde ladies in long red coats! I loved that they wore such bright colors and we got lots of super shots - poor thing, she had a tough time deciding which ones to choose. (he he...I dont feel bad one bit).

I cannot believe this little sweetie is a year old now! I did her three month pics and that year just flew! I love her outfit...UGG boots and all.

Okay, I guess Im going to wrap this post up and see about adding some more this weekend. I'll try to be better about posting in the new year!!

The Christmas Special of mini sessions was a smash!!

The entire day was relaxed and so fun! I have to thank my help for all they did for me!! Diane, you were excellent as my greeter and information center. Lisa and Matt, you guys were sooo helpful with everything that needed to be done to pull this off. I really appreciate you coming early and staying late! Mom, thanks for the lunch break and watching my family. Tracy...you rock with soda patrol! I personally have a favorite from each mini session and am thrilled to see that lots of the parents agree with me! I have one more day of specials to come on Sunday - its booked up already but I have a waiting list if you think you might like to be on it. Next year, I will only have one day of specials!

Okay, enough chatter....we wanna see some pics!

I am just as excited for this coming weekend and look forward to sharing the good times with some new faces!

Im showin' off!

Had a test run with my friends and their families last night to prepare for Sunday. I had so much fun with them and appreciate their time. This was only my second attempt at a card - I just loved the three photos together and had to see if i could make it myself. Im not good enough to offer my own cards this year...but maybe next year I'll be an old pro and can offer custom designs for each family!!

We also took some traditional studio photos. I love the blue add blondes, bald and blue eyes on this blue are a perfect "set". :)~

We're getting ready....

I have got just about everything ready for the big day on the 11th. Lots of help from my bridal party (Yes, the wedding was 13 years ago but I like to hang onto my friends so we see each other regularly and I figure they took the vows with me "through good times and bad" so here we go with another good time!) Thanks much Lisa, Diane, Tracy, Mom and my sweetie...Jean. I have a full day and could not have done it without this great crew!

I decided to add one more day for the special. It will be held on Sunday 11/18. There are only two sittings left to fill in the afternoon that day. If you or someone you know is interested in having one of them, please call me asap.

Stay tuned for January specials....Im trying whip up something fun to get us through the dark days of winter.

Now, just for a chuckle....I had to post this. Its soo hard to photograph my own children....maybe its because there are four but Marleigh just refuses to cooperate. I decided this time I would just leave her out of this photo and get the older ones as they were feelin' the love for me and cooperating so nicely... (OKAY, I cried and proceeded to carry on about how all other photographer moms have great photos of their kids and I didnt have anything good to update my walls and that made them feel bad). So, ignoring Marleigh got me this...she pulled up a chair, sat right between the kids and me and here is the result. Like my new portrait?

In case you havent heard, Im going to have a Christmas special on 11/11/07. Im thinking of adding another day (the following Sunday, 11/18/07) so if you would like to have me take your Christmas card photo for $25, you get a free 5x7 and as many cards as you need for $1 each, let me know asap and I will consider adding that second day for sure. I just need enough interest before confirming. So, this is my idea. I want to have a winter wonderland of white, backdrop, bed, everything white except for kids in red pj's or sweaters. I will have brightly wrapped boxes to accessories but if you know my style, I like very minimal props so the focus is on the subject. Here's an idea - its just that though - things may change on the day of the shoot.

Simple and clean, that's what I like.

Okay...so next order of business. I finally got to one of Branden's football games and got some great photos. He loves the game but there was an injury to one of the boys and I just dont like to see that part. Next year he may try something different (he's interested in Lacrosse).

And here's a cool one - we might even make it into a poster.

Next I have the cutest pic. This pooch is such a doll. She was so well behaved. It made my job so easy!

Lastly, I was at the beach for a session last night (I think that's the last beach session for me this year..although I did one on December 27 last year so I shouldn't say that yet). I took this super cute shot of the kids, she's 10 months, he's 3.

That's it for me today. Im off to photograph a newborn this morning!! YEAH!! I'll update more as I still have four sessions ahead of me in the next few days!

Total Cuteness!!!

My friend Peg (another photographer) brought her son to me for some fun pics. I know your thinking - if your a photographer, why bring him to someone else - well..first of all, its so hard to photograph your own children and second, its really nice to see someone elses ideas. This little guy was so great! He did whatever we wanted him to do. I asked for smiles, goofy faces and serious ones and he was excellent! I think I might have to get this one printed BIG for studio!

Okay...so on another note....My sweet Marleigh is so funny. Her favorite song these days is "No more monkey's jumping on the bed". If you see her, ask her to sing it for you - its so cute - she has actions to go with it! I could listen to her all day knowing how quickly the time flies! She did just turn two a month ago and already that independence a two year old fights for has begun. She wants to do everything herself and its such a frustrating time. I guess that's why I enjoy the peaceful/cheery moments so much!

What I like about fall....

Today I photographed my Uncle Dave for his business materials. My first professional!! I get to use him in my portfolio so here he is for you all to see!

I suggested removing the tie and jacket for a photo for his wife...I really like this casual style.

On my way home from our shoot, I stopped to take this photo. I love fall and this is why...along with the clean, cool smell in the air and apple crisp for a treat. Most of all I love wearing jeans and sweaters!

Tonight I photographed my friend Lisa. She chose this pond near my studio as her location of choice and I think it was a great choice! She thinks I need a personal assistant with all I have going on these days. I appreciate that she notices I dont really sit home watching TV and eating bon-bons all day. I liked this photo best. Welcome to my blog

Well, with encouragement from a few fellow photographers, I have decided to give this blogging thing a try. I will keep my entries short and sweet and try to update with anything new going on in my little corner of the world.

This weekend I got my website online www.kellyroy.com if you get a chance to check it out, I'd love some feedback. Its not done as it took me a good part of the weekend just to figure out how to load to the net. But, I did it!

No photoshoots for me this weekend. I did take my girl to the studio for a few birthday photos. I really can't believe she will be five in just a few days! Gosh..I gotta come up with a treat for her to bring to school Friday..hmmm...whoopie pies maybe?
