TIP..toe...TIP...toe... {Southern Maine Photographer}

I'm sneakin' in here on a Saturday night to tend to my much neglected blog. If I have no readers anymore, I'm not surprised...I've let you down!!!!

My last post left off with my girls and their shirtless shots and I loved them so much I thought you'd enjoy looking at them for a while too! (kidding) The same day I took those, I was prepping for this little beauty, Charlotte. You've seen her here before - she was in her daddy's arms as an infant - he is a local policeman! She's growing so fast but mom signed her up for my "Here I Grow" package and I get to chase her around her first year!!

Isn't she a living doll? Her mom, Melissa, brought her a variety of sweet clothes..made me miss those little tiny outfits!

I'm shooting new babies like crazy lately - its sure filling that baby void I was having when Marleigh started school! I get to smell them and cuddle them - all the parents are so wonderful to share with me! I swear too - I get the most beautiful babies to photograph!!

This is Izzy.....(Izabella), she's just gorgeous too! She's Charlotte's BFF! She and her mom came to visit me a few days after Charlotte did! Luckily we had time and patience on our side as we waited for Ms. Izzy to bless us with a bit of a nap so we could get some sleepy shots.
Her awake look was lovely.....she was truly a diva with all her poses!
Melissa and Amy, Thank you very much for choosing me.....and letting me hold and smell your precious angels! I look forward to watching them grow!

It's been almost a year since I successfully suspended an innocent child from the branch of a tree so....he came back for his one year portraits and I decided to do it again!!! Happy Birthday, Jaden! He was the baby in that neat birth photo where dad was catching him! (can YOU believes its been nearly a year already?)

Last but not least....Asher! Go back a few posts to his birth story! He came to visit me at the studio today and a few pounds heavier with full cheeks and a second chin he was the perfect specimen for my ivy headpiece!
Mark and Lindsay.....thanks so much for sharing him with me today! You didn't make me feel rushed at all when I was smelling his head as he slept on my shoulder! I hope you get power back at your home soon! This crazy weather is everywhere!!
I'm off to shuffle the girls to bed. They got to stay up an extra 30 minutes because its Saturday night and I needed to finish this post!!
Enjoy!

May I?? {Southern Maine Photographer}

I am sure that some will find these photos inappropriate for online but I am the mother and photographer and choose to share them here with my favorite group. I did put them on my facebook page but they are there for a limited time only. I love these!!! I feel so lucky to have gotten them! I was waiting for a client, testing my lighting before she got there and asked the girls to sit for me. They were both wearing striped shirts and clashed so I decided to remove them. Once the giggling was over I posed them so their "good parts" were hidden and I'm over the moon at how well they did!

I came home, immediately downloaded the session and was almost in tears when I saw these up close. I feel so blessed.....blessed for these beauties I get to mother the rest of my life...and blessed for the ability to photograph them like this! Now to decide on which one will cover the wall at my studio.

I love them!

Here it comes!! {Southern Maine Photographer}

Valentine's Day!! You know, that day when you share with your sweetie(s) how much you love them...eating sweet treats and just lovin' on each other all the day through!! YAH RIGHT! We've got two hockey games and since the school parties are now over and the bellies are already full of sweet treats, we will be watching the girls coming off their sugar highs.

I would like to give a bit of my own advice to any guy who dares to read this.....all she really wants for valentines day is: peace, maybe a bit of pampering and definately a handwritten love note! If anyone wants to send an exerpt from this blog entry to my darling husband, his personal email address is.... NAH, nevermind, I'll tell him myself! We've got one of those amazing relationships where not much goes unsaid. I would love a sweet note from him though....the kind I used to get when I was a new mom, sporting that "new" (not a good "new") figure and walking around with dried drool on my shoulder (I soooo miss those days). Since my figure hasn't changed much and I do have drool free shoulders now, the love notes are usually brief....very brief....as in "Love, Jean" brief! Just one, one that I can keep forever in a special place that one day our kids can read! Let's see how he does now that the pressure is on and I've blogged about it!

Tonight...I watched this.......

The last branch in my personal family tree is learning to write her name. Admittedly, I don't spend much time with her doing this....she's learning most of it from Mrs. Potter and having her peers all learning along side her is making it fun for her. (I'm sentimental about all these milestones with her, sorry she's all I blog about but its all bitter sweet for me).

As the girls and I were enjoying our girls night in, I heard them working quietly together. I went to investigate (you know, when girls are quiet, you MUST investigate!) I found them working together on writing Marleigh's name. It warmed my heart to watch Makenna's pride in showing Marleigh how to form the letters. I've got to document these times....the teen years aren't far away and thanks to advice from my friends of teen girls, I'm bracing myself for those days yet embracing these days!
Jean and the boys are at a hockey game and will be out a good part of the evening. We miss them but girls night in is always a nice change of pace. With no distractions around them, they discover each other again and I can only hope this will last a good part of our February school vacation!

Happy Valentines Day to you my friends! I hope someone showers you with peace, pampering and love....and maybe even slips you a love note like mine!

Enjoy!

Blessed x7 {Southern Maine Photographer}

Here he is.....cute in every way and looking as sweet the six that came before him! Master Taggart "Tagg" as he's called around home, made his entrance into this world to a family of two girls and four hockey-lovin' boys anxiously waiting for the next player to take to the ice!

Its an honor to photograph my friend's babies and I really appreciate that Kendra asked me as early as she did so I could capture some of the peaceful moments.....she even let me smell him....for a looong time! I'll always say it....I love the babies! Thanks Kendra...he's awesome!!!

Sorry for posting this so late! I'm keeping the entry short as I have to go rally the girls and get them tucked away in bed. Tonight I will keep my watchful mother's eye on my oldest....who apparently has a new love interest!! UGH - teenagers!!!
Enjoy!

Blessings {Southern Maine Photographer}

I'm SO SORRY! I failed to post this update! The day after my last post I got "THE" call that I'd been waiting for. Lindsay was going into labor and I was honored to shoot the birth!

Lindsay and Mark have a very touching story. They had a son, born still about 18 months ago. They named him Noah and he was lovely...... I did not know them then, I've only seen his photos through the lens of another photographer who donates his time for NILMDTS. You see, Noah's birth brought forth a movement created by his parents and a wonderful nurse named Kathy who works at the hospital where he came into this world. One year ago, here in the State of Maine, babies born still at birth were not given birth certificates, only death certificates. Mark, Lindsay and Kathy brought this information to the powers that be in our capitol and worked diligently to change the laws so that even babies born still are legally "born" and now parents are entitled to a Certificate of Birth Resulting in Stillbirth. Their slogan was powerful "Born still, but still born". There's a page on facebook that could use more fans: Pregnancy Loss, Stillbirth and Infant Death Alliance. If you've got a minute, we could use the exposure. (thanks!)

So obviously, the birth of their second son, Asher James, was a welcome sight to all who were present. Even the doc admitted the emotions were high in that room and we all cried happy tears for them!

So here they are.....can you stand the love here? Marks tattoo is of Noah's footprints.

Lindsay & Mark, thank you for wanting me to be part of this special time in your lives! Kathy, it's always a pleasure working with you (we are a great team)!
Readers, I know you'll love this tidbit of info too.....Lindsay blogs and if you need to fill your days with more reading material because I've been so lax, you can find her beautiful words here: (Lindsay's blog) You'll love her words, she's a writer and it's much better than anything you could read on this ole rag!
I am incredibly blessed for all the lives that have touched mine through this business! I have my awesome husband to thank, he is the one who broke down and purchased me that first camera!
I know my gal-pal Kendra is waiting patiently to see photos of her new baby. I promise to update tomorrow for her!! Just wait....another great story!

Enjoy!
